Colorado treats loads at or above 500,000 pounds, or loads occupying two lanes, as superloads. They require a route survey, 72-hour advance notice, and bridge analysis through CDOT. Escort counts scale with size: one escort above 12 feet wide, two escorts above 14 feet wide or 110 feet long. We manage the permits and escorts as part of the move.
How are wind turbine blades transported in Colorado?
Blades from the Front Range factories routinely exceed 110 feet, which puts them in the two-escort superload tier. They move on the eastern plains corridors, including I-76, US-85, and CO-71, with route surveys and staged delivery windows at the wind farm. The I-70 mountain corridor is generally avoided for oversized dimensions.
Can a 3PL store data center equipment before installation?
