What is customs brokerage?
Customs brokerage is the preparation and filing of import entries with U.S. Customs and Border Protection: classification, valuation, duty payment, and compliance. Licensed customs brokers are federally regulated professionals.
Sams coordinates the full brokerage process through our licensed customs broker partners, and pairs it with the freight and warehousing on either side of the entry. The result is clearance that happens while cargo moves, not after it stops.

The Importer Security Filing, called 10+2, is required for ocean imports and must transmit at least 24 hours before vessel loading. Penalties run $5,000 per violation. We manage it as part of every ocean program.
